Then Martin Fröst, the world's reigning clarinetist, delivers the sweetest lullaby you've ever heard, sewn with a roaring dance-band whirlwind into Copland's concerto. To top things off, Bartók's masterpiece ballet, The Miraculous Mandarin, has tour de force passages for a whole family of clarinets.
