Gilbert and Sullivan meet the Marx Brothers in this political satire about the election and Presidency of John P. Wintergreen who runs on the platform of “love” as he promises to marry an all- American girl if folks will vote him into office.
This hilarious show with music by George and Ira Gershwin and book by George S. Kaufman won the 1932 Pulitzer Prize for drama (the first musical to do so) and begs the question, “Which is more important: Corn Muffins or Justice?”
