Adapted from Frank Wedekind’s 1891 play about the unforgettable journey from youth to adulthood with a power, poignancy and passion. This haunting musical took Broadway by storm. Set in late 19th-century German, it concerns teens discovering the tumult of sexuality. The original play was banned in Germany due to its frank portrayal of abortion, homosexuality, rape, child abuse and suicide. In this version, alternative rock is used for an extraordinarily contemporary feeling. Spring Awakening received eight Tony Awards in 2007, including Best Musical, Book and Score. This is its Minnesota State Mankato debut.

Individual tickets for Spring Awakening are $22.00 regular, $19.00 for senior citizens, youth 16 and under and groups of 15 or more, $15.00 for current Minnesota State students.
