Aug 18, 2013Mixed Precipitation will present a program based on their Picnic Operetta—a hybrid opera performance with a picnic lunch—that has been adapted to the unique space and larger audiences at the Art Park. They plan to perform an Italian opera that has been transformed by the license they take with the material: arranging the score for street instruments, interweaving quotes, mixing musical styles and creating a mash up that places the story in a contemporary context. Samples of locally grown, performance-inspired delicacies will be served during the show to compliment the theatrical action and heighten understanding of the story.
