Shoeing of horses has taken place since Roman times. Not until the 19th century was a machine adapted to mass produce horse shoes. In 1899, people in Forestville used these factory produced shoes and tailor fitted them to each horse on the farm. Join us for a farrier demonstration related to the art and vocation of horse shoeing. Methods of the past as well as today will be interpreted and discussed.
