We are Donna Buckbee, Drue Fergison and Joy Hoiland (and friends), who appreciate all music, but especially enjoy playing traditional, old-time, American string-band music with each other. Much of this music hails from the rich southern Appalachian mountain culture, predating bluegrass, with roots going back to the 19th century and earlier. However, we also enjoy playing other types of music, including Scandinavian-American tunes from our own area, and we have a lot of fun working out harmonies and simply jamming informally. Jamming is not performative, but is a direct outgrowth of a traditional, inclusive approach that invites amateur musicians into the group to play along and experience the joy of making and learning music together. We are excited to share this style of informal, imperfect, in-process, living and breathing music with others.
Donna - voice and fiddle, Drue - fiddle, Joy - mandolin
