The Northern Lights International Music Festival is a three week classical music performance program held on the Iron Range from June 29 through July 20. Award-winning students, performing faculty and guest artists from the United States, Poland, Great Britain, Canada, Brazil, Russia, Japan and China present an exciting schedule including opera, chamber music and orchestral works. Performances in Aurora, Gilbert, Virginia, Chisholm, Duluth and the resort city of Ely. Conductor Gavriel Heine of Russia's Mariinsky Theater returns to the podium for another season.
