Over the course of forty years the Northwest Paper Company commissioned artists to illustrate its Mountie brand for promotion of its business-to-business paper sales. Arnold Friberg is the preeminent Mountie illustrator, having produced the largest number of works and some of the most memorable between 1937 and 1970. Internationally renowned illustrator and portraitist of many noted dignitaries including the Queen of England, he was a master of his craft. Arnold Friberg passed away in 2010 at the age of 96, leaving a legacy of excellence in the illustration world. This exhibition is a celebration of his work, showcasing his varied portrayals of the heroic guardian of the North from the Tweed Museum's Potlatch collection of Canadian Royal Mounted Police Illustrations.
