Metro Tourism Committee
The Metro Tourism Committee includes representatives of tourism promotion organizations from 10 Minneapolis Saint Paul Area counties. The mission of the Metro Tourism Committee is to increase tourism to the metro area through pooling of resources and reduction of duplication; to expand and diversify marketing efforts; to be the tourism voice of the active tourism organizations in the metro region and act with Explore Minnesota Tourism.
Meetings of the committee are held every other month (beginning in February) on the first Wednesday, with sub-committees for marketing and development meeting on the off-months.
A marketing program is developed in the summer for implementation the following year. Communities in the region are encouraged to participate and various financial contribution levels have been developed to meet the needs of a variety of budgets.
