EMT Council Appointments Announced

The Governor’s office recently announced 11 appointments to the Explore Minnesota Tourism Council, which represents various facets of the tourism industry and provides input into the programs of Explore Minnesota Tourism (EMT). Following are those who are newly appointed to the council and the segment of the industry they each represent on the council:

Sangita Bhakta, lodging representative
President, Comfort Inn Lakeville

Lisa Havelka, Southern Minnesota representative
Director, Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism

James Hey, tour operator’s representative
Co-owner, Southwest Coaches, Inc., Southwest Tour & Travel, Marshall

Bruce Martinson, counties representative
Cook County Commissioner
Owner, Superior Ridge Resort & Motel, Schroeder

Julie Wearn, CVB representative
Executive Director, Roseville Visitors Association

In addition, several others were reappointed to their positions on the council: Fred Bobich, Cohasset; Charles Dougherty, Stillwater; Nancy Hanson, New Hope; Bradley Jones, Rochester: Mark Novotny, Hackensack; and John Valliere, Bloomington. All of these appointments continue until January, 2016.
