Madelia Selected as the Host for the 2013 Governor's Pheasant Opener

Madelia was announced as the host community for the 2013 Governor's Pheasant Opener. Planning will begin in early spring for the event in October 2013.  Proposals are sought each year in the spring for the event with the host community announced at the current years' event. The first Governor's Pheasant Opener was held in Montevideo in 2011. Governor Dayton mentioned during his speech at the Friday evening community banquet that a community doesn't have to begin with the letter M to host the event.
