Festivals and Events Association Conference Early Bird Deadline Is April 4
Release Date: Mar 21, 2013
Early bird discounts for the Minnesota Festivals and Events Association’s (MFEA) Spring Conference end on Thursday, April 4. This year’s conference will be on April 10 and 11 at the Alexandria Holiday Inn. MFEA brings together festival and event presenters from around the state to network and share best practices with each other. Whether you're involved with your local community festival or a large, multi-day event, MFEA welcomes you to join others from the industry before the busy summer season gets underway.
Registration for the MFEA Spring Conference begins at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10. Two hour-long webinars begin at 3:00 p.m., followed by an evening tour of the Carlos Creek Winery.
Thursday's keynote speaker is Craig Samborski, event producer of the prestigious Tall Ships Challenge® in Duluth. He'll share his behind-the-scenes knowledge of what it takes to successfully manage an event that drew 125,000 visitors in its first year. Since weather affects virtually every Minnesota event, Angela Mens Eastman will wrap up the morning presentations with information on SkyWarn, a weather-spotting program for your event’s emergency planning.
Rick Freitag, communications director for Pioneer Public Television, will share his insight on how to market your event through social media, press releases, and media partnerships.
Sylvia Allen, president of Allen Consulting, will share her insight on successfully raising money through event sponsorships. Sylvia helped transform the Minnesota Fish House Parade into an event drawing 10,000 to Aitkin. Registration information is available at: http://tinyurl.com/bapeq2j
