Explore Minnesota Fishing Reports Ramp Up for the 2013 Fishing Opener
Release Date: Apr 30, 2013
Minnesota lakes are either entirely open or losing ice cover rapidly, and anglers are eager to hit the water. If you are not already participating in the weekly Explore Minnesota Fishing Reports, this is a great time to start!
The Explore Minnesota Fishing Report is a great way to generate inquiries, and it's free! Information used to produce the report comes from tourism organizations throughout the state. The fishing report is sent via e-mail, RSS news feed and posted on our website, reaching thousands of consumers and media each week. Many of our consumers then request additional travel information by calling or linking through to the source - you!
Reports should include:
- Name of city/area and lakes covered
- Current fishing activity on Minnesota waters, i.e., species of fish being caught on specific bodies of water, successful types of bait, recommended fishing techniques and methods, and time of day
- Other regulatory items of importance
- Name of person & organization reporting, phone, and web address (if applicable)
**Information regarding natural occurrences such as lake-turnover, or events such as upcoming fishing tournaments, is also encouraged.
To participate, reports must be received by each Thursday morning, and should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org to be included in the weekly report. If you have further questions, please contact Christine Lawton at Christine.Lawton@state.mn.us.
