2013 Minnesota Museums Month
A 31-day celebration of hundreds of Minnesota museum attractions:
- Art Museums
- Historic Museums & Sites
- Science Museums
- Children's Museums
- Ethnic Heritage Attractions
- Gardens & Nature Centers
- Zoos & Wildlife Centers
2013 is our second year of celebrating these vital community attractions. This May we hope that you will join us for another round of fantastic exhibits and activities.
Several new exhibits are riding into town on a wave of anticipation. Some, such as Gunther Von Hagens' Body Worlds The Cycle of Life at the Science Museum of Minnesota, are just winding down while others, including the The Deadliest Catch photography exhibit at the Minnesota Marine Art museum, are in full swing.
Make way for splendid gardens. Take a peaceful journey through the Leif Erickson Park & Rose Garden or stroll through the new Ordway Gardens at the Marjorie McNeely Conservatory in St Paul. Opened just this April, the new wing of the conservatory displays the largest public Japanese Bonsai collection in the upper midwest and overlooks the already established Charlotte Partridge Ordway Japanese Garden.
Spring is a time for renewal. Nobody knows that more instinctively than the African penguins at the Minnesota Zoo. This spring they welcomed their first chick ever born at the Minnesota Zoo. Don't miss your chance to catch a peak at the downy new addition.
No matter your preference, you will find a museum that suits you. Come join us this May.
