Mille Lacs Kathio is an outstanding park with a 35 mile wooded trail system that is a favorite of hikers, skiers, snowshoers, snowmobilers and horseback riders. The Interpretive Center teaches about 9000 years of human activity in this National Historic Landmark District. Kathio offers 87 campsites of various types, 5 camper cabins, a swimming beach, picnic area, observation tower and boat accesses onto the Rum River and Shakopee Lake.
