We are centrally located between Park Rapids and Detroit Lakes. You may leave from your cabins to four wheel, snowmobile or hike in Smoky Hills State Forest. All of our six cabins are level to the lake, are beautifully decorated and some have screened in porches, fireplaces, decks, TV, & DvD Players. We offer a sandy swimming beach, kayak, canoe, & paddle boats. We have boats, motors, pontoon rentals. Lodge has short order grill, gameroom, laundry, groceries, and gas & bait. Our seven cabins line the shore of Shell lake, each a box seat to sunsets and sunrises. If fishing's your pleasure, Shell Lake's clean waters are known as a good overall fishing haven. Northerns are the predominant species. Perch and panfish are gaining in size and population. Walleyes lurk for the skilled and lucky. Take a stroll down a quiet, country road. View the beauty of the Smoky Hills State Forest on horseback. Let the kids build sand castles while you read a juicy novel at the beach. Three of our cabins are new since 1994 and have screened porches. Two have fireplaces. All are equipped for light housekeeping, full kitchens and linens provided. Our lodge has snacks, groceries, pool table, video games, TV/VCR room, laundry, playroom and a video/book library. We have horseshoes, volleyball and basketball. Kayaks, funbug, and paddleboats are free for guests. Fishing boats, motors are available to rent. Our New Palm Beach pontoon features a 28hp motor, canopy, table, swivel seats and live well. A comfortable way to spend the day on the lake. We are located 25 miles from both Park Rapids and Detroit Lakes which gives you twice as many choices for dining, shopping, golf and other fun adventures-all within a short half hour drive. We are close to the Tamarac Wildlife Refuge and 45 minutes away from Itasca State Park and the headwaters of the Mississippi. Spring and Fall are special times in the woods-a magical time of change and beauty.
