May 6, 2013 - Sep 5, 2013Step back in time aboard a historic Minnesota streetcar in downtown Excelsior. Aboard 1907 Twin City Lines streetcar No. 1239, it's the early 1900s when fast streetcars sped commuters and summer tourists from the hot city to the cool shores of Lake Minnetonka through the then-open country. Enjoy a one-mile, 25 minute trip along the old Minneapolis and Saint Louis Railway right-of-way through Excels and stop at the carbarn to see 1913 Winona streetcar No. 10 under restoration by our volunteers.

Take Highway 7 west from Minneapolis or I-494. Take the second Excelsior exit, County Road 19, turn right (north), and then right (east, towards the Lake) on Water Street to our terminal between George and 3rd Streets on the right.
