Minnesota Birding & Wildlife Watching

Wildlife watching is brisk in Minnesota, particularly in the state’s forests and prairies, and along lakes, rivers and wetlands. Avid and novice birders alike enjoy the year-round opportunities to watch for more than 420 bird species. Minnesota has one of the largest concentrations of bald eagles and loons in the lower U.S. Wildlife sightings add to the fun of Minnesota travel. There are plenty of animals to watch for: white-tailed deer, beaver, raccoon, turtles, frogs, fox, moose and bear. Both timber wolves and bears can be viewed at interpretive centers in Ely. See eagles up-close and in the wild at the National Eagle Center in Wabasha.
