Waterfalls in Minnesota
Waterfalls have a hypnotic power, and they’re always a favorite with travelers. Many of Minnesota’s waterfalls are accessible to visitors and provide splendid viewing and photo opportunities in any season; winter is particularly spectacular, as the falls become frozen sculptures. There are several waterfalls at State Parks along Minnesota’s north shore of Lake Superior, including the popular Gooseberry Falls and the High Falls in Grand Portage State Park, the state’s largest falls, with a 120-foot plunge. There are a couple of waterfalls in southern Minnesota, and urban visitors enjoy Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis.
