Minnehaha Falls Park is an aquatic oasis just a few miles south of downtown Minneapolis. The upper promenade gives visitors a panoramic view of the falls as it changes alongside the seasons. Head down a stone staircase during the spring, fall and summer to grab an up-close-and-personal shot from below.
After snagging the perfect pic, explore the park's picturesque hiking and biking trails around the Mississippi River and cap your visit with fish tacos or Cajun fare at the one seasonal restaurant everyone in Minnesota can agree on: Sea Salt Eatery.

This massive moc-toe is housed inside the flagship Red Wing Shoes retail and outlet store in downtown Red Wing, where you can pick up a (presumably much smaller) pair for yourself.

Do go chasing waterfalls at Minneopa State Park in Mankato, home to southern Minnesota's largest waterfall. Make your way across the rocky shore until the cliffs beside the falls offer enough shade to perfectly light your shot. Mossy overhangs surround the falls and give the best Minneopa photos an otherworldly beauty you can't find elsewhere. After snagging the perfect pic of the falls, hop in your car and head to the "bison drive" to see Minneopa's roaming bison herd.

Lake of the Isles in Uptown Minneapolis hosts the annual Luminary Loppet as part of a winter festival that features various youth events and cross-country ski, fat bike, snowshoe and skijor races. The candlelit trail also happens to be a big fundraiser for the Loppet Foundation, a cornerstone of the skiing community at Theodore Wirth Park. Clocking in at more than 740 acres, it’s the largest park in the public park system and a year-round haven for winter sports enthusiasts, hikers, bikers, and golfers.
