Get the News on Fall Color Hues
Where is the best fall color in the state this weekend? What's the color outlook for the destination you're headed to?
Typically, peak fall color arrives in the northern third of the state in mid-September to early October. The central third of the state is most colorful between late September and early October. Southern Minnesota trees reach the height of fall color in late September to mid-October.
Explore Minnesota Tourism provides weekly fall color reports that include information on trees as well as colorful wildflowers and prairie grasses, bird migrations, and other fall phenomena.
The fall color report is updated each Thursday afternoon during the season. It is available online and on a phone message, and is distributed via email. Much of the content in our reports is provided by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
