Visit Lake Bronson State Park

Visitors can secure one of the many campsites at Lake Bronson State Park, in the northwest corner of the state, and have fun exploring a variety of natural and historic resources. The park features 14 miles of hiking trails, 2 miles of surfaced bike trails, 5 miles of mountain bike trails, and lake activities including fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, and waterskiing.

Visitors may have the rare opportunity to see a moose or other wildlife including sandhill cranes, sharp-tailed grouse, and deer. The world's largest jack pine is here, as well as several historically significant, WPA-era structures including a stone water tower with an observation deck that provides 360-degree views of the park's forest, prairie, and lake.

Located far from city lights, Lake Bronson State Park is a perfect place for spectacular star gazing, particularly when the Northern Lights are in view. A recently launched park program gives explorers the chance to go geocaching to find hidden treasures with GPS guidance. Visitors can bring their own GPS unit or borrow one at the visitor center, where assistance is available.
