The Chamber office also serves as the Jackson Area Convention and Visitors Bureau. We are a conduit for information in our community and the surrounding area. The Chamber sponsors many local events and promotions. See us first, for area information and details. The City of Jackson is built along the beautiful Des Moines River, conveniently located right off Interstate 90, exit 73 in Southwest Minnesota. A community rich in history, Jackson offers small town living at it's finest. Several events are held throughout the year including the Farm & Home Show (3rd Sat in March), Town & Country Days (last weekend in June), Jackson County Fair (July 25th - 29th), Corn Cob Open golf event (2nd Thurs in Aug), Chamber Golf Event (4th Thurs in Aug. ) and Holiday Fest parade & fireworks (1st Sat. in Dec). Jackson Speedway is host to the fastest 1/2-mile dirt track in a five-state area. Races are held every Sat. night starting in May through Labor Day. The Jackson Nationals are held the 3rd weekend in August. Other racing in the area includes go-carts, Erickson MX motorcross and soap box runs. For the history buff, Fort Belmont offers a unique experience. The exact replica of a civilian Fort built to protect settlers in the 1860s, stands on prairie grasses along the river valley. Features include a sod house, blacksmith shop, 1873 Lysgard farmhouse, 1902 Delafield church and museum. The Fort is open daily June, July and August. An annual Rendezvous is held the weekend after Labor Day. Come and experience Jackson and the surrounding area. We would love to have you as our guests. You just might decide to stay for awhile.
