Sauk Centre IS the Center located at the crossroads of 94 and Highways 71 and 28. Stroll down the Original Main Street featuring antique and unique stores and coffee shops plus a unique 6-screen movie theatre. The Lake Wobegon Trail for biking, hiking, skateboarding and snowmobiling goes right through the heart of the City, three golf courses, Sauk Lake and parks for fishing and recreation, frisbee golf, and summer camping facilities with music in the bandshell and a musical playground that you have to see right in the heart of downtown. Sauk Centre is the boyhood home of Sinclair Lewis, the first American author to win the Nobel Prize. Visit a museum dedicated to him at the Interpretive Center, open 8:30 to 4:30 Monday-Friday and weekends during the summer. His narrated home tours are open summers only.
