Lake Okabena benefits from the 20-mile Buffalo Ridge which deflects winds toward the lake, often at speeds of 15 or more knots, which make ideal conditions for windsurfing. A regatta is held in the summer on the lake. In addition to the regatta Midwest Speed Quest is the largest GPS speed sailing event in North America. From May - October all ages can participate and win cash prizes. At any given time you will find someone fishing on Lake Okabena and ice fishing in the winter months!
