The Archer House is a charming French Second Empire Inn strategically located along the picturesque Cannon River, between the campuses of St. Olaf and Carleton College, in the heart of historic downtown Northfield. The hotel features 39 newly renovated Guest Rooms & Suites, two distinctive Restaurants, a Lounge with a River Deck, a Coffee Shop, and several unique retail shops. The Archer House River Inn opened in 1877. The Inn is a grand 4-story red brick building featuring French Second Empire architecture and is situated on the banks of the Cannon River at the center of historic downtown Northfield.

We invite you to join us for an exciting summer featuring the Riverwalk Market Fair Saturday's 9am-1pm June 2, 2012 through October 27, 2012 directly behind the Archer House on the beautiful Cannon River. The Market Fair features a Farmers Market, Fine Art, & Artisan Foods.

The Archer House River Inn is just 45 minutes south of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The Inn is surrounded by Restaurants and Pubs, Bookstores, Antique Shops, Clothing Stores, Galleries and Gift Shops. The hotel is three blocks from the Carleton College campus and 1 mile from the St. Olaf College campus.

The Inn features 39 Guest Rooms and Suites. All of our guest rooms feature private bathrooms, many with soaking tubs or whirlpool tubs. The Inn offers free High Speed Wireless Internet access, LCD TV's, Cable Television and an Exercise Room.

Our 4th level which requires a one floor walkup, features a Grand Suite with a King Bedroom & Bath, Great Room with Living Room, Dining Room and Kitchenette; Bose Ipod Stereo, 51" & 42" Smart TV's, Queen Sleeper Sofa and beautiful views of Northfield. The King Suite and Great Room can be combined with the 4th floors two Queen Bedrooms to make a 3 Bedroom/3 Bathroom Suite with the Great Room. Each bedroom features Ipod Clock Radios and 42" Smart TV's.

The Archer House is 100% Non-Smoking. The Archer House has staff on duty 24 hours a day and is open 365 days a year.
