24 Hours of Ham Radio Demonstrations
About
The South East Metro Amateur Radio Club (SEMARC) will be at Cottage Grove Fire Station No. 3 as part of a national 24-hour amateur radio exercise from 1 p.m. Saturday, June 25 to 1 p.m. Sunday, June 26. Operators will demonstrate how to use new digital communications systems, voice communications and Morse code. Ham radios are important for when disasters damage critical communication infrastructure such as cell towers. The public is invited to join SEMARC during their demonstrations and ask questions. This national amateur radio exercise includes more than 18,000 radio operators holding events at more than 2,500 locations across the U.S. and Canada.
