The aurora borealis sets the stage for one night of life-changing random encounters in the imagined rural township of Almost, Maine. John Cariani's nine-scene play weaves together stories about strangers that become friends and friends that become lovers. Each of the nine stories features a different cast of characters and a different community theatre company.
