About
Join us at Shingobee Hills for the 2nd Annual Valentine Candlelight Ski! Shingobee Hills was one of Minnesota's first downhill ski areas (operating from 1940 to early 1980's). This historic Civilian Conservation Corps site is now a popular sledding and cross-country ski area. Hike or ski down to the CCC-built Shingobee Chalet where the short candlelight ski trail begins. This is a family-friendly fun evening out on the trail. Warm up next to the campfire, have a cup of hot chocolate and enjoy the northern Minnesota night sky.
When: February 14, 2020 from 5 - 7 p.m.
Where: Shingobee Hlls Recreation Area, located 6 miles south of Walker, Minnesota off Highway 34
What to bring: Visitors must have their own skis, but there are snowshoes available free of charge. Also suggesting a head lamp and warm clothes!
