Egarr returns to lead the SPCO in his own captivating arrangements of Johann
Sebastian Bach’s excerpts from the monumental “Goldberg” Variations. The
SPCO also debuts the work of German Romantic composer Emilie Mayer, one of the
few women symphonic composers of her time. Franz Joseph Haydn's “Drum Roll”
Symphony rounds out the program with brooding suspense interrupted by bursts of
joy.
