About
Visiting artist Jeff Schmuki will present a public lecture about his entire body of work on Thursday, March 7 at 6 pm, which includes an amazing array of ceramics, interventions, plants, and robotics.
Schmuki is a visiting artist in conjunction with NCC's exhibition "In Service: Engaging and Connecting through Clay." He will be on site at NCC to install a hydroponic garden and a custom ball mill, which will churn bisqued earthenware into growth medium for gardens. If you are interested in participating as a gardener for the installation and during the run of the exhibition, please contact Jill Foote-Hutton at [email protected].
Jeff Schmuki was raised in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona, an environment of extremes that nurtured a unique relationship to the fragile landscape and a respect for our limited natural resources. He has exhibited and/or completed projects at the Carnegie Museum of Art in Pittsburgh, Seoul Art Space_Geumcheon in Seoul, South Korea, the Goethe Institute of Cairo, Egypt, and the Bach Modern in Salzburg, Austria.
