About

Assisi Heights is the home of Rochester’s Franciscan Sisters. Perched on a high hill on the city’s north side, it is one of the true landmarks of Rochester. This presentation will cover the history of its site and a narrative of its original design and construction. While the building’s external appearance and internal layout have not varied much since it was completed almost seventy years ago. But the actual usage of the space within has been adapted to differences in the sisters’ mission over those years. A brief overview of these aspects with Ken Allsen will also be addressed in this presentation.
