About

Benton-Fremont Days / Te Tonka Ha Rendezvous - Aug 6-8, 2021 at the Hole in the Mountain Park in Lake Benton, MN.   Come celebrate this annual event the first weekend in August.  Go back in time when MN was part of the Dakota Territory and the early explorers, Nicollet and Fremont, first came to the "Hole in the Mountain" in 1879.  The annual event brings in re-enactors from the area to celebrate history as it once was in this part of the early fur trade and building of the American nation. The weekend provides entertainment and brings history alive, by featuring a variety of historic and educational activities for the entire family.  Events include: Black Powder Shooting, Hawk and Knife demonstrations, pottery, spinning and weaving, canoe making and an outdoor worship service on Sunday morning.  The event will also feature the annual TaTonka Knap-In and the Pickers Paradise.  Food available onsite all weekend.  Come and enjoy the weekend sponsored by the Lake Benton Chamber of Commerce and the Brookings Renegades.  The event is free and open to the -public.  Come and enjoy the fun!
