About

This guided historical bike tour with a National Park Service ranger starts at Harriet Island in downtown Saint Paul and travels upriver to explore the history, geology, watersheds, and parks that connect us all to the Mississippi River. The ride showcases the connection of a city that sprung up in the middle of wildlife, history and culture. The route travels through floodplain forests that provide some of the most productive habitats in Minnesota, as well as culturally significant sites like Harriet Island, Lilydale Regional Park, Sibley Historic Site and Bdote at Fort Snelling. The full loop is about 10 miles and takes about 2 hours.
