Leilani Raashida Henry’s new book The Call of Antarctica takes readers on a journey to the rugged Antarctic landscape to learn its history, its present, and the importance of protecting its future. In the book, Leilani weaves her father's (George W. Gibbs) experiences on Admiral Byrd’s III expedition, as an introduction to this land that is owned by the world. She will read diary entries from the book and her play Antarctic Soul, as well as, talk about what she discovered through her research. After her presentation, the author will be signing copies of her book which can be purchased now or at the author talk from the History Center of Olmsted County.
