About
Enjoy snowshoeing (skiing or hiking if conditions permit) by the light of the moon, with candle luminaries to help guide the way.
The length of trails and routes will be determined shortly before the event.
A skiing route is planned to run between the Trail Center and the Interpretive Center, this trail is suitable for beginner-level skiers of all ages. A shuttle bus will run continuously between the two locations. Ski rental ($10/day for skis, boots, and poles) is available at the Park Office on a first-come, first-served basis. A Minnesota Ski Pass is required for all skiers over 16 years of age.
At least one snowshoe trail will start at the Interpretive Center, where traditional snowshoes will be offered free of charge for those who wish to try them out. Snowshoe rental ($6/day for a pair of modern snowshoes) is also available at the Park Office. Both are on a first-come, first-serve basis.
After exploring the trails, visitors can warm up around a crackling fire while they enjoy hot cider and cookies at the Interpretive Center. This event is co-sponsored by the Natural Resource Club of Central Lakes College.
Note that severe weather, poor snow conditions, or other factors may cause this event to be changed or canceled. For updates, call 320-532-3269 or check the park's visitor alert online.
