About

The Celebrate the Light of the World display at the Koosman home began as one man’s idea and grew into an amazing family tradition. As the lights have grown so has their family and their love for their community. After ten years, the Koosmans have handed the responsibility for Celebrate the Light of the World to Willmar Fests. The tradition will continue for years to come for the Willmar Lakes Area and all those who come to see and Celebrate the Light of the World!

Here at Celebrate the Light of the World, we want you to take in all of the bright lights and join our effort in making this Christmas a little brighter for deserving families in our community. Please keep in mind that Celebrate the Light of the World is a drive thru display. For the safety of you and others please drive carefully and be aware of traffic through the display. There are areas where you can park and enjoy the dancing lights for a little longer period of time, please carefully reenter traffic as you can.

At the lights we can boast a lot of big numbers; this year’s display includes nearly nine hundred thousand Christmas lights, seven miles of extension cords, and took over one thousand volunteer hours to assemble and set up. It is our goal to celebrate another big number this year, please join us in making a donation to support four amazing organizations that help those in need in our community; the Salvation Army in Willmar, Habitat for Humanity of West Central Minnesota, The Link in New London and the Kandiyohi County Food Shelf. Make your donation near the Koosman Chapel as you exit the Celebrate the Light of the World Display. Thank you from Celebrate the Light of the World!
