Christmas Bird Count at Pipestone

Calling All Birders!

Friday, December 30th, is the day for our annual Christmas Bird Count.

Volunteers will meet in our visitor center at 7:30am for complimentary coffee and donuts, break into groups, and head out to count those birds!

This is an early event (can't help when the birds are out), but always a fun one. If you haven't been birding or don't know a lot about them, that's okay! This is a perfect chance to both learn and help us collect data. The more experienced birders are always helpful and generous with their knowledge. You won't be out in the cold the whole time either - we'll be covering several miles surrounding Pipestone, so it's more of a scavenger hunt for groups as they drive through their designated areas, getting out to listen and look more closely in good spots for bird habitats.
