The St. Olaf Theater Department will host the theater production Cloud 9, written by Caryl Churchill and directed by William Sonnega, Associate Professor of Theater.
In the first act of Caryl Churchill’s Cloud 9 we meet a British Family in a colonial outpost in late 19th C. Africa, and in the second act magically revisit the same characters in 1970’s London. Via a time-shifting structure, unexpected trysts, gender swaps, power plays, and role reversals, Cloud 9 comically satirizes and spoofs the ever-changing world of sexual politics.
