When Imogen defies her father King Cymbeline by marrying Posthumus, he is banished to Italy. There he meets Iachimo, a man with a broad claim about women that spurs the men into a reckless wager to test Imogen’s fidelity. The couple's relationship strained, the quest for truth leads Imogen and Posthumus through disguises, far off lands, wicked stepmothers and war in a world where, like many of Shakespeare's plays, there's often more than meets the eye. Great River's nine person production focuses the larger than life story into an intimate exploration of betrayal and pride that challenges the audience to understand forgiveness on a radical level.
