About

The string players of the Dakota Valley Symphony welcome Brazilian recorder virtuoso Clea Galhano and principal flute Laurie Senechal to the Black Box Theater for two intimate performances showcasing some of the finest composers of the Baroque era.

Our program begins with the Little Dance Suite in D for string orchestra, by German composer Georg Philipp Telemann. Guest artist Clea Galhano will join the strings for Antonio Vivaldi's Concert in F Major, Op. 10, No. 1 "The Sea Tempest," and both Clea and Laurie will demonstrate the clear, beautiful timbre of their instruments with Telemann's Concerto in e minor for recorder and flute. We conclude with none other than Johann Sebastian Bach, whom many regard as one of the greatest composers of all time, and his Orchestral Suite No. 2 in b minor, featuring Laurie Senechal on flute.

The Dakota Valley Symphony and Chorus is a non-profit volunteer arts organization that has served orchestral and choral performances to Minnesota's Dakota County since 1986.
