Discovery Days: Ideas with Impact

About

The Bakken Museum is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moon landing with Discovery Days: Ideas with Impact. Join us on Saturday, July 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for family-friendly activities and screenings of the Smithsonian Channel documentary The Day We Walked on The Moon. On July 16, 1969, hundreds of thousands of spectators and an army of reporters gathered at Cape Kennedy to witness one of the great spectacles of the century: the launch of Apollo 11. Over the next few days, the world watched on with wonder and rapture as humankind prepared for its "one giant leap" onto the moon--and into history. Witness this incredible day, presented through stunning, remastered footage and interviews that takes you behind-the-scenes and inside the spacecraft, Mission Control, and the homes of the astronaut's families. In addition to the 45 minute film screenings throughout the day, scientists and organizations will share the surprising ways the moon landing continues to inspire innovation and impact our everyday lives. Discovery Days at The Bakken Museum are included with museum admission and free for museum members. Visit thebakken.org/events for more information.
