An Enemy of the People presented by Sod House Theater

About

Sod House Theater presents a highly original, immersive, site-specific bluegrass music-infused adaptation of An Enemy of the People at Wilson Park Shelter, St. Cloud, MN, July 11-14. Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People examines how a community responds when the local doctor threatens to expose that the water source they rely on for tourism is contaminated. The play raises questions about how far a community will go to protect their town’s secret to keep tourism dollars coming and circumvent a path to financial ruin. This hour-and-a-half musical is a creatively fun way to experience immersive theater for both the audiences and performers. Scenes will take place in the park with audiences and performers moving to four close locations using music as a guide. Actors will perform their scenes and songs right next to the audience, making the audience feel as if they are part of the story. Audience members will find themselves immersed in the play’s dilemma and will actually be part of the climactic ending of the play when they vote to shape the ending story.

Join Sod House Theater as we travel to Wilson Park Shelter, St. Cloud, MN, July 11th through the 14th, to perform a modernized musical adaptation of Ibsen’s classic play featuring a Water Days Celebration with games, treats, and a water tasting!
