About
Join the creators of Rochester Recordings and the Mosh Pits & Memories exhibit as they give an overview of Rochester’s underground music scene of the 1990’s to 2000’s on June 6th at 7pm at the History Center. You’ll hear how a scene of teenagers and young adults started bands, promoted shows, recorded and released records, and started music venues all without the help of big corporations or the city itself. In addition to that they’ll talk about how the Pla-Mor Ballroom played an important part in Rochester’s music history starting in the 1930’s and continuing up until its demolition in 2007. The presentation will also feature select audio and video excerpts of bands from that time period and a roundtable discussion featuring participants of the scene.
