“Other Dimensions” is Natalia Himmirska’s retrospective exhibition, representing works executed during her “Minnesota Period” at Bemidji State University beginning in 2003 until this spring, when she will retire as a full professor.

The paintings and prints on display reflect her research into new media, which she introduced into the art curriculum at BSU to enhance her students’ scope in the painting and graphics disciplines. That research is reflected in her own works, where she combines materials and techniques –wax, oil and acrylic paints, paint drips, and heavy impasto to achieve the desired effect. Working in many new materials, she branched out into new visual territory as she investigated the character of the media.
