About

Celebrate the opening of Fluidity: Identity in Swedish Glass and the U.S. Premiere of Swedish glass artist Jo Andersson’s immersive installation, Being. Hear from Jo Andersson and other featured glass artists, and enjoy themed activities, food and drink inspired by the exhibition.

This event is proud to be part of The Great Northern Festival, which celebrates cold, creative winters through programming that invigorates mind and body. In an era of changing climate that threatens our signature season, the festival seeks to create community, inspire action, and share the resilient spirit of the North with the world.

Schedule

  • Improvestra will be filling the ASI campus with music all night
  • Outdoor winter experiences with fires and immersive light play
  • Jo Andersson’s artist talk is at 7 pm
  • Foci Minnesota Center for Glass Arts will be leading an interactive glass bead polishing activity. Use a glass plate coated with loose grit and water rubbing glass to gradually polish a rough cut bead by hand to create a bead necklace to bring home.
