About

Anyone who has attended will tell you the Fishing For the Cure Ice Fishing Challenge is one of the most fun and meaningful fishing tournaments ever!

What’s better than a great day ice fishing with family and friends, while also knowing you are raising money for a good cause?

Our 2020 tournament* definitely held up its reputation of being a fun, family friendly event. Nearly 1,436 people – moms, dads, kids, grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends – enjoyed catching fish, watching the leaderboard to see where their name would land on the list of 100 prizes, and raising money to help find a cure for cancer.

Prizes were awarded for the top 50 fish in two fish categories.

The Fishing for the Cure event honors those who are fighting cancer, those who have fought cancer and won, and those who have suffered from cancer and are no longer with us.

It’s been almost two long years since our last tournament! We can hardly wait to see everyone again at our 2022 Fishing For the Cure Ice Fishing Challenge on Feb. 19, 2022! Join us!

*The 2021 tournament was cancelled due to government restrictions during the pandemic.

Make a Difference
The employees of Alexandria Industries support the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life to help find a cure for cancer. Through various fundraisers over the years, they have donated approximately $400,000 to support cancer research, and education on early detection and prevention.

Fishing for the Cure
In 2006, a small team of employees whose loved-ones lost their battle with cancer, created a fun, family friendly ice fishing tournament to raise money for the American Cancer Society (ACS). The first “Fishing for the Cure” tournament hosted 112 contestants, netted $620, and donated all the money to the ACS’s Relay For Life.
