Grand Portage National Monument Rendezvous Days

About

Rendezvous Days, August 9-11, 2024

Travel back in time to 1797. The hustle and bustle of summer activity peaked with the North West Company Rendezvous held at Grand Portage. This was the time when furs from wintering posts, were delivered down the Grand Portage Trail.

This annual Rendezvous is still celebrated at Grand Portage. The event is held in conjunction with the Rendezvous Days Pow-Wow, sponsored by the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. The annual Rendezvous is the National Monument's biggest celebration of the year, a time when Grand Portage reflects on its rich heritage and comes alive with hundreds of historical re-enactors and traditional encampments. Witness living history in an historic and beautiful place. This is truly an event for the whole family. Enjoy music, dancing, craft demonstrations, interpretive programs, and interactive workshops throughout the event.

The historic depot (stockade), reconstructed buildings, and historic encampment are open to the public from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The Heritage Center is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission to Rendezvous Days, the Heritage Center and monument grounds is free. (Donations to support future events and interpretive programs are appreciated.) Thank you for your support!
