In 1965, Rob Grill and three others teamed up with hit producer Steve Barri (The Mamas & The Papas, Tommy Roe, Four Tops, Dusty Springfield) to form The Grass Roots, who went on to chart 29 singles—13 gold—along with two gold albums and one platinum album.
