Great American Think-Off

About

The Great American Think-Off is an exhibition of civil disagreement between powerful ideas that connect to your life at the gut level. The Cultural Center sponsors this annual philosophy contest which invites people to submit an essay (750 words or less) for a chance to win one of four $500 cash prizes and participate in the live debate to ultimately answer the question, determined by audience vote. A new question is released each year on January 1, essays are due April 1, finalists announced May 1, and the great debate is held each year on the second Saturday in June at the New York Mills School, with reception following at the Cultural Center.
